The History and Evolutions of Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office is office software produced by Microsoft which designed to run under Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating system. The famous applications in MS Office are Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
The history of MS Office begins on October1990 as a package that built for Microsoft Windows 3.0, Microsoft Word for Windows 1,1, Microsoft Excel for Windows 2.10 and Microsoft PowerPoint for Windows 2.0. In 1995, MS launched a new version for OS Windows 95. Microsoft remaking Windows version 3.1 and Windows 3.11 totally for office works. Microsoft Office growing fast, further, and become most user’s favourite in the world including Indonesia.
In the 2000s, MS launched some versions of MS Office and still be used until now as modern office applications. Most used MS version now is Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Office XP (2002), Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Office 2010 which still used until now.
1. Microsoft Office 3.0
Microsoft Office 3.0 is released on August 1992. It is the first version of Microsoft Office. Word 2.Oc, Excel 4 Oa, PowerPoint 3.0, Mail and messenger become the main component.
2. Microsoft Office 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2
Microsoft Office 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 are released in 1994. They are contained Word 6.0, Excel 4.0, PowerPoint 3.0 and Mail.
3. Microsoft Office 95
Released in 1995, Microsoft Office 95 is the first 32-bit version from MS. It is specially designed for Windows 95 and can be operated in Windows NT 3.51, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98.
4. Microsoft Office 97
Microsoft Office 97 released on 19th November 1996. This version has hundreds of features and better than the older version.
Microsoft Office 97 recognizes Command Bars, a model which toolbar and menu are designed more attractive. They can show a natural language system, nice visual design, and better grammar correction.
5. Microsoft Office 2000
Microsoft Office 2000 is released for manufacture on 29 March 1999 and built as retail on 7 June 1999. It contains new features such as HTML doc publisher, internet collaboration feature, roaming user profile support, interface improvement, and responsive toolbar.
Microsoft Office 2000 also carries Photo Draw, raster program, vector scanning, and web component.
6. Microsoft Office XP (2002)
Microsoft Office XP (2002) released in 5 March 2001 as manufacture and available to sale in 31 Mei 200. It introduce new features like smart tag, option-based search, task panel interface which combine the popular menu task in the right side in order to get fast access, new document collaboration, support for MSN group and SharePoint, and voice and handwriting recognize ability. In Mei 2002, more than 60 million of Microsoft Office XP (2002) copy sold.
7. Microsoft Office 2003
Microsoft Office 2003, a program released as retail in 21 Oktober 2003 introduces 2 main programs, Info Path and One Note. It also brings a graphics software named Picture Manager. It also has new features like information management rights, new collaboration feature, improving support for Share Point, smart tags, XML, and online support service for user. MS Office 2003 is planned to increase intellectual workers’ productivity.
8. Microsoft Office 2007
Microsoft Office 2007 released for manufacture on 3 November 2006 and released for the licensed user on 30 January 2007. The new Microsoft Office 2007 feature is new looks interface, menu bar, and toolbar. This version also introduced Office Open XML file format in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
9. Microsoft Office 2010
Microsoft Office 2010 finished on 15 April 2010 and it available for consumers on 15 June 2010. Microsoft Office 2010 completed with a new logo which similar to 2007 logo. It has main feature as file menu, new collaboration tools, and navigation panel protector.
10. Microsoft Office 2013 (Version 15)
Microsoft Office 2013 started in 2010 and finished on 11 October 2013. This version provides a new feature like integration support for online services (include OneDrive, Outlook.com, Skype, Yammer, and Flickr) improved support format (Office Open XML, Open Document & Portable Document Format) and support to a multi-touch interface.
11. Microsoft Office 2016
Microsoft Office 2016 released on 22 September 2015. This is the latest version of Microsoft Office.
