Things to Pay Attention to When Creating a Logo
Logos are currently in great demand from large entrepreneurs to small entrepreneurs. Logos are made to show the identity of a company or community or organization. Logos also affect people’s interests. For example, if the logo is good, it will be attractive to the eye that sees it. For that, if you make a logo, don’t be careless. Here are things to consider when creating a logo.
1. When using script fonts, do not use capital letters
Generally, we use capital letters only for the beginning of words, people’s names, city names, and others. However, if we make all capital letters when writing script fonts, the results will seem ugly. Therefore, use capital letters appropriately.
2. Try not to create a logo in Photoshop
Actually, Photoshop software is intended to manage images or bitmaps and not to create logos because logos require vector format. Usually, the finished logo will be explored for various user needs.
Maybe many are asking, why should the vector format? Because this format is simple for logo creation and this format will not experience reduction when enlarged to the maximum limit. This format also makes it easier for users to make edits again one day and this format is relatively smaller. If you want to design a logo then use vector processing software such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. Usually, vector format files have output files such as EPS, AI, CRD, SVG and SWF (used for animated logos).
3. Try not to use bitmaps as part of the logo
In making a logo, you must find your own difficulties. Indeed, the bitmap file has a small resolution, but the drawback is that the image is not good when enlarged and the image will look blurry. Meanwhile, if you use a bitmap with a large resolution, the size will also be large. Therefore, it can be said that the processing of vector and bitmap formats is not suitable when combined. If you still insist on combining them, you will find difficulties when applying to other media.
4. Try not to use a lot of special effects filters.
Some additional effects in making a logo such as Shadow, Light, Glow, Flare and Bevel maybe some people think people will look more beautiful. Before using these effects, use a flat colour first because it matches its function and the results will be applied to a variety of different media. If you are creative, you can add special effects to create a 3D logo. However, you must remember that in doing this work, do not be easily satisfied.
5. Do not imitate images on the internet
A designer is required to be creative in making artwork so that the results are different from the others. For example, you want to create a logo from animals, then search Google Images, save it, and redesign it. However, it is not recommended because it is a copyright infringement. From now on, change your mindset to think about your own logo design. Even though the results are bad, by the time you will get used to doing it and finally can pour quality ideas. Anyway, never stop working.
