The Evolution of CorelDraw and Its History

CorelDraw may already be familiar to graphic designers because CorelDraw is a vector graphics editor software used for graphic design purposes. CorelDraw itself was first created in 1987 by Michael Cowpland in Ottawa, Canada.

The product that is best known and widely used by the Indonesian people is CorelDraw, a software used for vector creation. Corel was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada. The CEO of Corel company from March 5, 2015, until now is Patrick Nichols. Currently, Corel has several subsidiaries, namely Pinnacle, Winzip, Precio, and Ulead. 1. CorelDraw Version 1.0 (1988)

CorelDraw version 1.0 runs under Windows 3.1. CorelDraw is converted into an illustration that can be applied with fonts. This CorelDraw software only uses 2 3.5 inch floppy disks. This software can be used to create invitation cards, business cards, logos, and letterheads. This version is undergoing a process of frequent updates, within a year, from January 1, 1989, to February 2, 1990, this version has been updated five times.

2. CorelDraw Version 2.0 (1990)

In CorelDraw version 2.0, many new features include the Envelope Tool (to change the shape of objects or text into other shapes), Extrusion (to create images and volumes on objects) and Perspective (to break objects along X and Y angles into perspective planes).

Version 7.0 is faster than previous versions and no hardware upgrade is required to use this application.

Version 8.0 comes with a Drop Shadow feature, Distortion Tools, and a number of other new features. Unfortunately, to use this version of CorelDraw requires large hardware, especially memory to be used smoothly and stably.
